Where It Started

Founded on one principle

For more than twenty years, the pro shop inside Palm Beach Skate Zone has been where South Florida skaters go when they want it done right. Its longtime owner, Howard Fink, ran it on one principle, that the skater always comes before the sale. Hockey players, figure skaters, parents buying a first pair of skates, and seasoned competitors all got the same straight answers. That reputation is what Chris and Kristen Cinalli took on in 2024, and keeping it intact has guided every decision since.

New Chapter, Same Heart

A family takes the reins

Chris and Kristen Cinalli rebranded the shop as Ice Lab Pro Shop and rebuilt it from the inside out, keeping what worked and replacing what did not. Neither of them was new to running a company. They both grew up around family businesses, started a pool maintenance company together in 2006, and sold it a few years later to concentrate on raising their kids. Chris went on to earn his master plumber license and spend years as a plumbing manager known for fixing the departments other people had written off. Kristen built a career in sales that moved from an early startup through an acquisition to her current role as a director of sales, which she still holds while running the shop.

For Chris, the ice is familiar ground. He grew up in Brooklyn playing roller and ice hockey, and that instinct for the sport is still obvious the moment he starts talking gear. The whole family lives it. Their daughter Avery, who is thirteen, skates with the Palm Beach Blades synchronized team, and their son Max, who is ten, plays ice hockey for the Palm Beach Hawks travel team. Running the shop put the Cinallis back in business for themselves, this time around a sport they actually love, and they have kept the same crew and the same standard the shop was built on, which is to take care of the skater first.
